when booting up press delete on the keyboard to boot into the acer bios make sure that the cd is the first boot device and then press f10 to save and exit turn the pc backon with the acer recovery disc inside (which i presume that you made) and it should boot to the disc without even touching ubuntu. if this is a disc received from the manufacturer my guess is that it is the freebie disc that
