This recently appeared in my Gmail in the last few days Unlikely as this feature has always been there. It's just that before it was called "- Show quoted text -" (or Hide). Now it's just three faint dots. But it's the same functionality as has always been there - that didn't change.
There are a couple different ways to remove the chat feature from Gmail. As previously mentioned, simply click the "Turn off Chat" link in the footer of your Gmail inbox. Depending on the version of Gmail that you are using (as determined by Google), this may or may not hide the chat window completely. On Firefox, when I go to my gmail, even with the show password block unchecked, the password automatically allows anyone to read my emails. How do I stop that. Jan 09, 2010 · Double click to open the name of the account that is seen. This will bring up the change email account. The name seen there (under user information) is what others see When you email them. Change the name or leave blank. Press next, finish, close and ok. All done. To hide the recipients of your mailing lists, first open Address Book and then create a new contact with the name “Undisclosed Recipients: Your Mailing List Name” and your email address.
