My understanding from everything I've seen on the subject is that with the advent of 2008/Vista, it is a no-no to deselect IPv6 especially with servers as it is used in some background manner. So I don't touch it. I'll put up with the no internet access message. The computer says I am connected to my wifi network but have no internet access. After running a diagnostic it was recommended that I reboot the router, but that did not help. I tried restoring my computer to an earlier time, before I lost the internet and that did not help either.
