Bilkent’s new VPN server, namely vpn-ng.bilkent.edu.tr is a multi-protocol server. It supports various VPN protocols that our users can choose from. Opening/Managing a VPN account In order to open or to manage a VPN account (e.g change its password), you must login using the following form with a valid STARS or BAIS ID; i.e. you must either be a Bilkent student or Bilkent affiliate. Only current students and staff are eligible for VPN accounts. Bilkent University provides a VPN service to enable access to these resources from off-campus locations: In order to use this service, the user will need a VPN account. This VPN account will be used to establish the VPN connection and is not useful for anything else. Click here to open a new VPN account or to manage your existing account. SSTP (Secure Socket Tunneling Protocol) is the easiest way to setup a VPN connection. Windows supports this protocol natively. The point-to-point communication between the client computer and the VPN server is encrypted using SSL (Secure Socket Layer) just like the https: traffic on the web. The VPN service is a more general purpose service which also enables users to access non-library resources as well (like shell access to Bilkent servers, etc.)In either case, the user will need a VPN/Proxy account. The VPN/Proxy account can be used for both the VPN service and the LibProxy service. Bilkent University members should obtain a VPN (Virtual Private Network) password from the relevant address in order to use this service. Outside users can obtain a daily VPN password by completing a request form at one of the following locations:
